Position Summary
- Lead the planning and execution of all agency fundraising events from concept through post-event evaluation
- Develop event timelines, manage logistics, and ensure successful execution of all event-related activities
- Maintain event budgets and track expenses to ensure fiscal responsibility
- Secure sponsorships, cultivate donor relationships, and identify new partnership opportunities with businesses, organizations, and community leaders
- Collaborate with event committees and board liaisons to support fundraising goals and event success
- Research, coordinate, and negotiate with vendors and event-related service providers
- Manage event technology platforms, including online bidding and fundraising systems
- Prepare event reports, sponsorship tracking, ROI analysis, and post-event evaluations with recommendations for future growth
- Create event themes, promotional messaging, and marketing materials in collaboration with the Director of Development
- Design and coordinate event-related social media campaigns, email marketing, signage, printed materials, and digital content
- Assist with maintaining event-related website and fundraising pages
- Support media and public relations efforts, including press releases and community outreach
- Assist with social media fundraising campaigns, including Domestic Violence Awareness Month initiatives
- Support community-based fundraising initiatives and outreach efforts
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters
- Recruit, coordinate, train, and supervise event interns and volunteers
- Ensure donors, sponsors, and volunteers receive meaningful recognition and stewardship
- Participate actively as a member of the Development Team
- Assist with development reporting, planning, and organizational fundraising initiatives
- Attend and support meetings, committees, and agency events as needed
- Provide backup support to other Development Team members and perform other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Valid driver’s license required
- 3-5 years of nonprofit event planning, fundraising, or related experience preferred
- At least 1 year of marketing and/or communications experience, including social media management
- Experience working with donor CRM/database systems
- Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, or similar graphic design platforms
- Strong project management, organizational, and workflow management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills
- Passion for nonprofit work and community impact

The Crisis Center for South Suburbia has been providing hope and services to victims of domestic violence for over 40 years through housing, counseling, advocacy, outreach and prevention programs. We are a non-profit community organization that provides emergency shelter and other essential services for individuals and families victimized by domestic violence and addresses the societal issues that contribute to domestic violence. With a staff of more than 50 employees and a budget of over four million dollars, the Crisis Center continues to grow while offering free services to Chicago’s south suburban communities.
